Westside United Training Camp
All Westside United teams (u8-u14) will participate in a training camp the week of July 15-19. The camp will last five days and the cost for each Westside United player is $25 which will be figured into their fall fees. The camp will be directed by Josh George, director of coaching for Westside United FC. Coach George will be utilizing other Westside United coaches as well as college coaches during the duration of the camp. The camp will be geared towards the technical and tactical side of the game in a challenging environment. All players are expected to bring a ball, wear soccer cleats, have shin guards on, and bring water to training.

Westside United Striker’s Camp
Westside United will be hosting a striker’s camp that will work on improving each individual’s goal scoring ability through technique and repetition. During the camp, each player will learn a variety of ways to put the ball in the back of the net while incorporating the technique of how to properly strike a ball with power and placement. Players are expected to get around 200 to 400 strikes on the ball during each session. Each day will be a different way of finishing as the coaches will manipulate the environment to ensure that each player is getting well rounded instruction and seeing the many different ways and techniques that lead to goal scoring success. The camp will be instructed by Josh George, Director of Coaching, and will use a variety of coaches from within Westside United FC who have played the game at the college level or beyond. Cost of the camp is $100 for Westside United members and $110 for non-Westside United members. Each time slot will be limited to 40 members so please register as soon as possible before slots fill up. Westside United Jr. Academy Camp
Westside United will be hosting a Jr. Academy camp this summer during the week of July 22-26. The camp is open to Westside United members as well as non-Westside United members. It is geared for ages 4 to 8 years old and the focus will be having fun and serving as an introductory to soccer while working on technical skills (foot skills) through different activities games. Players are expected to wear cleats, shin guards, have a ball, and water at each session. Below is more information the camp.

Clean Sheet Goalkeeping Camp

Westside United will be hosting a goalkeeper’s camp that will work on improving each individual’s goalkeeping ability through technique and repetition. We understand that the goalkeeper is still the most neglected player on a team. This camp is designed to push goalkeepers to new levels and help maximize their potential. This camp is open to goalkeepers of all levels and abilities and is open to any goalkeeper, NOT just for Westside player; this is a great introduction to serious goalkeeping. During the camp, each player will learn a variety of goalkeeping techniques through challenging activities and fun goalkeeper games. Each day will include a different topic for the goalkeeper including collapse dives, crossing, shot stopping, distribution, and more. Tyler Keever, the Goalkeeper Director at Westside United, will instruct the camp. Tyler had a successful 4 year career at IUPUI as a 4 year starter, 2 year captain, 5 time Summit League Defensive Player of the Week over his career, and finished his senior as a 2nd team All Summit League performer. He will use a variety of coaches from schools such as IUPUI, University of Kentucky, Butler, and other Goalkeepers who have played the game at the college level or beyond.
